Unlock O2 iPhone for free

It seems a lot of iPhone unlock has been discussed recently, if you live in the UK and on O2 network, here is a little tip for you. Just go O2 iPhone unlock form and fill in the form then wait for a week or so, you can get your phone unlocked for free no matter you are in contract or not, and this is 100% legal, no Jailbreak.

I first unlocked my O2 3GS back in 2010, then I renewed my contract with an iPhone 4 back in January, after received the phone by post, I immediately filled the form to try my luck, 1 week later, voila got a text from O2: your phone is ready to be unlocked, connect your phone to iTunes. I have used the phone in Italy with TIM sim card, works like a treat. No more high roaming charges and I can feel the freedom to use data abroad.

Good luck!

Tips: GoFlex adapter is more flexible than you think.

We all have tons of data needed backed up everyday, there are different ways, but for a quick and hassle free data back up I still prefer the good old external hard drive. There are many different types of external hard drives and different makes.

I personally prefer Seagate GoFlex portable drive, because it doesn't require external power and the clever interchangeable adapter interface allows much quick transfer speed than the traditional USB 2.0 drives, I have 3 adapters plus the stock USB 2.0 adapter come with the drive, I use FireWire 800 adapter with my MacBook Pro at home, I also use the eSATA adapter with my home PC and the USB 3.0 adapter with a Windows laptop. This allows much faster transfer speed for file to be copied across to different places.

IT DOESN'T JUST STOP HERE! The GoFlex drive itself uses a SATA socket, so all these adapters mentioned above will also work with any portable SATA hard drives, if you are like me, have a few of these drives lying around, just connect them use the adapter and wait for the magic to happen. I've tried using the FireWire 800 adapter with a Seagate Momentus XT drive and IT IS FASTER.

Ye, why don't you give it a try?

Apple announced: Final Cut Pro X

Apple has announced Final Cut Pro X at this year's NAB in Vegas. This is an significant update for Apple's "PRO" product.

Let alone the functionality, the latest included enhanced features promised speed improvement.

  • 64 bit - allows faster speed when working with multiple clips or large files
  • Grand Central Dispatch - it is a Mac OS X feature introduced in Snow Leopard, allows utilised application to use multiple computer cores, this allows speed improvement not only for people who has the highest spec Mac Pros, also the latest MacBook Pro and iMac will also benefit.
  • OpenCL - it is also a Mac OS X feature introduced in Snow Leopard, which allows applications to use the processing power of their GPU (Graphic Process Unit), so user can get maximised speed boost for their application
It is nice to see Apple is starting to use their latest and greatest technology to provide speed boost for their latest applications. And hopefully, this is a start for all developer in the community to use such technologies.

Over the next months or so, there will be no surprise to see reviews of Final Cut Pro X and shows the benefit of these speed boosts, I will keep you posted.
